Sorrento Peninsula seen from the slopes of Vesuvius

5/25/2012

To give you a first overview, here you can see the Sorrento Peninsula from a very special viewpoint: Mount Vesuvius (1,281 meters). Below is Castellamare di Stabia, where the Sorrento Penisula starts, and you can see all the way to Gragnano (where the excellent pasta is made) towards Vico Equense and Sorrento in the background.

And we will start with Mount Vesuvius itself: its fertile soil is famous for vegetables, orchids and vineyards. Follow this link I Nobili del Vesuvio and Music to visit a vineyard situated right on the slopes of Vesuvius, in the middle of the National Park, from which you have a breathtaking view of both Naples to the right and its bay, and Pompei in front of you, and the Sorrento Peninsula to the left. Here is the origin of the famous wine Lacryma Christi.

And...do listen to the music, musica napoletana at its very best.
