What makes up the Sorrento Peninsula

5/20/2012

The Sorrento Peninsula for a start...The Sorrento Penisula is named after its main town Sorrento, located on the part facing the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. It is made up of two Italian provinces, the province of Naples (NA) and Salerno (SA).  The southern coastline is called Amalfi Coast. Off the western tip of the peninsula (the ligh-green tip in the map below, called Punta Campanella) lie the island of Capri, and further to the west the island of Ischia. Towards Positano on the south side lie the islands of Li Galli.
